• International Symposium on Reading in a Foreign Language, 14 de diciembre de 2018, KU Leuven, Faculty of Arts – Teacher Training Department. Reading, and particularly silent reading, is a constant activity in an adult’s daily life and a basic tool for accessing knowledge. Music is an inherently rewarding and motivating activity that stimulates emotions and attention, and, “educationally, it can be as important as reading or writing” (Sacks, 2009:123). Multilingualism is an increasingly common phenomenon that is in constant development due to specific historical, social, cultural, economic or political factors. This workshop serves as a rallying point of these three fields, which also come together in the international R+D project on “Musical aptitude, reading fluency and intercultural literacy of European university students” (MusicLang, coordination by Huelva University (M. Carmen Fonseca Mora); collaboration: more than 10 international universities, a.o. KU Leuven).The main objective of both the workshop and the project is to obtain knowledge about the Reading in a Foreign Language in general, and about the relation between musical aptitude and reading fluency in a foreign language in particular.

  • Encuentro Internacional de Desarrollo Profesional en ELE. Del 11 al 15 de julio de 2016 tendrá lugar la segunda edición del Encuentro Internacional de Desarrollo Profesional en ELE, Enele 2016 que Language and Cultural Encounters organiza en la Universidad de Cádiz. Enele es un proyecto que comenzó el año pasado, cuando cuarenta profesores de trece países se dieron cita en Sevilla para explorar nuevos caminos en su profesión y reflexionaron sobre ella con docentes de todo el mundo, al tiempo que desarrollaron sus competencias trabajando con propuestas actuales en la enseñanza de ELE. Enele2016 tiene por título “Imaginar, innovar, inspirar: Nuevas perspectivas en la enseñanza de ELE”. Los ponentes que imparten los tres módulos y tres talleres son reconocidos especialistas en ELE, con mucha experiencia en la formación de profesores. Buscan aportar nuevas posibilidades de actuación pedagógica que llevan al aprendizaje activo y a conseguir más participación del alumno en la construcción del conocimiento de la lengua y la cultura a la que se aproxima.  Para más información: Encuentros de Jane Arnold con los distintos ponentes
